Grammy Award-winning musician Terence Blanchard has become quite familiar with Skidmore's first-year students this year, visiting campus twice. That's because his CD, A Tale of Gods Will (a requiem for Katrina) was their summer reading (aka listening). And the First-Year Experience program and Special Programs teamed up to bring him to campus to put a human face on his music and on the ongoing tragedy of Hurricane Katrina. This five-minute clip provides footage of his spring visit as well as insight into what the benefits of this educational approach are.
