I'm sorry ... I phrased that a bit rudely ... I meant only to correct the misconception. I'm glad that you now realize what it really is. To answer the rest of the questions, all you want to know about xke is at xkedata.com

@kaliokalani yea i was dumb a year ago, i now own a jaguar xj12 and will make a video of it, i thought this was a series 3 because of those hideous front grille surroundings. i know this is a series 1 now because your not the first person to correct me on that exact comment. if you've had 9 e-types. thats awesome, i hope to get an e-type one day

@10yroldcarlover you know nothing about xke's. I've had 9 of them ... including a Series 1. This car IS a Series 1 .. only Series 1 had the covered headlights and toggle switches in the instrument panel ... the Series III xke had open headlights like the series II and a chrome grill in the front bonnet opening. Plus, the Series III had fender flares ... if you look, this car does not ... If you don't speak and people wonder if you're dumb then speak anyway, you prove it.

That's a sexy looking machine. Tops the Lambo in my opinion.

They sure were a sophisticated design ! -- Would be nice to know the fact of -- what a new one would cost -- BACK THEN.

@kallsop well it looks ugly

It was an option. Much like the early Triumph TR6's, 1969 thru 1973, on the TR6 you could get what were called bumper overiders. These were designed to give a little extra protection in the front and rear of the car. After 1973, to meet US regulations they had those God awful rubber bumper guards on all European Imports.
