The original is way better than any of the movies or the 90's tv show

I'm only 30yr old and I grew up watching get smart on nick at nite

This is why remakes are a bad idea.

I think the movie payed a great deal of homage to the original series. The movie wasn't that bad in that respect. Steve Carell was the only choice among current A-listers who could have played Maxwell Smart. However, the tv series is an icon.

The TV series is way better!

No contest, the original is genius, the new movie is crap!

4:14 I love the Chief's weariness when he says "the Cone of Silence?" He knows what's coming, poor guy.

Say what you want about the merits of the film--I personally thought the movie was okay--but there is one area where it blows the original out of the water and that is the door sequence. By comparison, the original's fanfare falls a bit flat and the special effects certainly are nowhere as good.

the original is a lot better

There is NO comparing he 'old' and 'new. The old is far superior!!!
The Cone is still funny, even if it's not hallow like it used to be. Is Max getting hurt in there? Or is he saying "out" as loud as he can?

sounds like "Ow!" to me... i always thought he was just being silly, though, rather than really being in pain... who knows?

What if the movie had the original actors from TV series?
How much better would the movie be?

maybe you'll find your answer in the made-for-TV "Get Smart Again"... that's the closest i guess we'll ever get, now that Don Adams is gone...
