  • If you left Seattle, why did not the Greyhound bus took the Hi-Line route through northern Montana? So you left Seattle, cut across WA to Spokane and drove south to Boise then up to Billings? thats kind of long ways around. Now you know where the term "Big Sky Country" comes from when you travelled through eastern Montana. I miss Montana.

  • @longhairfan I guess that's the Greyhound route, between Seattle and Chicago, in regards to Montana, they do portions of I-90 and I-94. Actually, the 1st trip that came from Orlando, did not came via Chicago, but took all over Kansas, Denver, Salt Lake City and then, Boise to Seattle. This portion was from Seattle to Chicago, so you may find the route was mostly Montana, North Dakota, Minneapolis MN, Madison/Milwaukee and Chicago.

  • I did Seattle to Boston at the beginning of the year, it was fun, even with all the snow covering everything.

There's a nice little small town bar in St. Regis called The Talking Bird Saloon. The bus stops there for 'refreshments'

  • Oh great! All I recall was the Pilots Convenience stores along the way! But yes, St Regis was kind of small township with few residents and just a restaurant and convenience store for Greyhound passengers.

  • It was such an experience. I'm from the UK and had been to the States a couple of times before (both Boston) but htis time round i was heading back to Boston from Australia and had always dreamed of going across America on a Greyhound...shame my mp3 player died on me before i could really appreciate the ride with some Bruce Springsteen and The Black Crowes. Good times, i'm going to do it again.

  • Since you are in the UK, you may already know that Greyhound will be introducing services in London and Southampton in the fall. I don't know if the service will be the same than in USA, but who knows!
