My Friend of Angel Tribe / Mu Ustit Eŋgeliid Sogalaš

Mari Boine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mari_Boine) sings 'Mu Ustit, Eŋgeliid Sogalaš (My Friend Of Angel Tribe)' to the backdrop of 25 photographs of Lapland and the Laplanders and the animals with whom they share land and sea.

This is Track 5 on the CD 'Idjagieðas', a collection of 12 songs in the language of the Laplanders. Not surprisingly, I understand not a word, but when it comes to singing of this standard about such a poignantly beautiful country and its way oif life, it is the heart that is best fitted to understand.

The 25 photographs are my selection from 66 outstanding views of Lapland that form the slideshow, Laponsko.pps, currently being emailed around the globe. The unidentified cretor of this remarkable presentation is probably French - or at least French-speaking, to judge by the French map of Lapland which begins that slideshow. Merci beaucoup!
