  • HOW DO YOU LIKE WEIGHTED KEYS ON XF8, CAN YOU PLAY VERY FAST WITH THEM OR ARE THEY CLUMZY...I GOT XS7 NOW BUT WANT XF8 BUT DONT KNOW ABOUT KEYS...

  • @JureN4life If you feel at home on a real piano with weighted keys you will be alright. Personally I prefer the keys weighted. I don't enjoy playing piano on my Korg Triton Standard. For synths weightless is ok but not for pianos or guitar sounds. There are weightless versions of the XF8 though. I think XF6 is.

  • Love to tune Phil. Thanks for showing your recording process. I learned a lot of how the motif works. I even recorded a tune myself but, I lost it some how while saving it. Oh well, I'll get the hang of this beast one day. In the mean time I'll just watch and learn from you.

    Peace

  • @MrTea4u2 Cheers bro. I'll try to do some more recording tutorials.

  • I start to understand these "PADS" can follow the Key you play in

but it's not an arranger - I mean that it adds a walking bass

like the KN series or PSP (I believe)

    Still not sure

  • @ankhaton I will have to do a special demo to show you this when I get a moment. It has various possibilities :-) depending on what you choose to do.

  • @ankhaton

I did a couple of vids for you bud. Check out the walking bass/bass patterns from the XF8 in my recent vids 12/29. The pad adds the bass without using the arranger mode. This is different from the programing function shown above.

  • That song is really hot. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I'm still deciding between the Motif XF, Fantom G, and M3.

    Thank for the inspiration.

  • @JureN4life

I have an XS8. The weighted keys can can be tiresome on the hands after playing for awhile if you aren't used to them. I'm a heavy handed player, so they usually don't bother me too much, and I personally find that my playing is alot better with weighted keys as my playing tends to be rather sloppy on unweighted keys.

Based on what I have read on the Motifator forums and other places; Yamaha has the best weighted keys on the market.and even my piano teacher (a Roland guy) agrees.
