Jace/ Pookie's POV:
My heart raced and it getting harder to breath, when I realized that I hadn't been hit I glanced over the room making sure everyone was okay. He had missed and thank God for that. All of a sudden the door busted open again and the police swarmed in "Put your hands up where I can see them and drop all weapons," they demanded. Marcus snatched my arm, I struggled under his grip as he pressed the gun to the side of my head. " C'mon you don't want to do this and dig a deeper hole. Just let her go" Langston pleaded with him. " No I'm not going to jail over this. You guys aren't taking me not unless you want me to blow her head up" My eyes widened. The police began to reason with him but he insisted on keeping me hostage unless the police let him go free. I tried to stay calm but I couldn't millions of things raced through my mind. My heart dropped.

Marcus' POV:
"Don't step any further" I warned the police officers. I backed up towards the door tightening my grip on my hostage. She must be really eating her words now I really have no patience with girls like her. As soon as I made it outside I forced her in the car and ignited the car. I pressed the gas and speeded away. The sound of sirens filled my ears and I spotted the cop cars hot on my trail in my rearview mirror and rolled my eyes in frustration. I had to find a way to lose them and surprisingly she was silent the whole time. I turned off the road and started driving onto the field. The gun slipped out of my hands as the car jerked on a speed bump.

Jace/ Pookie's POV :
I took this as my only chance to escape, I kicked open the car door and sprinted. My chest burned and I could hear the gunshots in the distance. It felt so surreal, as ghetto as my neighborhood was you'd think I'd be used to gunshots by now but I've never been directly shot at before . The cars pulled up, Langston pulled me into a hug. " I felt so helpless in the situation and that's a scary feeling, I don't know what I would've done if you weren't okay".
