  • This might sound rather sad but before xmas I found a cd in a junk shop called "old cowboy songs of the west" I took it to work mostly to annoy my friend there...... After a few times on we now listen to it because we like it :D . I like the storys in these old songs

  • Alan did it all. Recorded Son House, Fiddlin' Joe Martin and Willie Brown at Clack's grocery store in 1941. I believe he also recorded John Dudley's "Cool Water" at Parchman Farm. Spent too much time in NYC. Did it all and did it on a shoestring. Naturally the FBI harassed him for being a "communist" because he associated with poor people and loved their music. The Bad Boy.

  • Nice song! Where is it possible to find Alan Lomax recordings?

  • my grandfather (Howard Lee Dunn) use to sing this song to me till the day he died.. i love him.. RIP
