In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

(continued). Do you ever hear 'feminists' say "I want more pay than men" or "I'm better than a man!"? No, you don't. You do however see women actively campaigning for equal rights.

Although it's true that one rarely (if ever) hears a typical feminist say they want female superiority, that is what's actually going on. Whenever someone argues against feminism, feminists do everything in their power to stop them. This often comes in the form of censoring. The MRA-incident is a perfect example of this.

Just like women, men are oppressed in their own ways. Feminism is stupid. It's no longer necessary. Human rights, or human equality, is what we should focus on now.

We already have equal rights. We just want equal respect.

Why do you think all of these things happen? Because of gender roles. Break down those gender roles, and then maybe fathers will be considered for custody, rape crisis centres will talk to men, and abusing women will be noticed. All of these ideas are based on the sexist idea (sexist towards both men and women) that men are strong and are capable of abuse or capable of handling abuse, whilst women are weak and thus unable to abuse or handle abuse.

It's still terrifying and the fact that it's informal makes it even scarier because it shows that these are normal thoughts. Everyday thoughts.

I'm not bothered by materialistic equality. I know that we've achieved equal pay wages, equal rights etc. But I'm sick of slut-shaming, rape culture, and disrespect towards women.

Also, you can't disprove feminism. You can't disprove a belief.

whoneedsfeminism.tumblr. com - Take a look at this. This is why we need feminism.

You must be joking. These are immature highschool kids and this hardly seems like a study and more like an informal survey. I don't argue against feminism because I think men have it worse any such nonsense. I truly believe wage and opportunity gap is closed and numerous studies have shown this to be true. If you want to fight for real human rights issues, fight for gender equality in islamic countries or race/sexuality equality in Western countries. Feminism is a disproven, outdated discipline

Great points! Men as a whole have it far worse. Just look at male suicide rates and the number of deaths which occur on the job. Look at all the good fathers who are automatically reamed unfairly by the law when divorces occur, even when the woman cheated on them causing the divorce.. Rape crisis centers won't even talk to men, and there are untold numbers of children abused/molested by women undetected or with no consequence, because supposedly only men are capable of doing anything wrong.

Why not go look up girlwriteswhat channel on youtube, or Dr. Warren Farrell? Feminism had noble intentions at first for equality, and many people don't understand how it has mutated out of control in modern times. The reason so many people are saying it is bad is because they have done more research into the negative side of it and the twisted people who leading the movement. This girl will get farther and generate far more respect by becoming a humanist.

Natural men and women cannot ever truly be equal, beyond just the physical, they have different amounts of grey and white brain matter which makes their minds function differently. The best we can do is have respect for each other and try our best to get as close to equality as possible without destroying the strengths for either side. Feminism has gone to the dark side when you understand it in depth, and if people care about a better world for all of us they will become humanists.

Feminism isn't about equality anymore, it went far beyond. You will learn when you do more research into the extremely complex negative impact modern feminism is having on men and young boys in society. If you want equality become a humanist. Go check out girlwriteswhat on youtube and find out about the dark side more in depth before you get burned.. You can be a sensitive man toward women who cares about equality and the new system will still burn you and the young men of next generation.

I've been researching feminism for over ten years. Dr Warren Farrell (a full grown man) used to be a leader of the feminist movement and has since realized its flaws. Look up his videos and learn about the myths feminism perpetuates. I would also urge anyone interested in learning about the dark side of feminism to view the extremely in depth videos on 'girlwriteswhat' youtube channel ( a full grown woman ) to understand how serious the problems are that society is facing.
