@The30YearOldVirgin I think I am one of those younger folks lol. Started listening to Bach at around age 12 and I have heard all major works by Bach. I'm 17 now by the way. I greatly appreciate you posting these recordings!

@The30YearOldVirgin - Still I think that those who can and do watch/listen are worth to be informed about whom the performers are. That´s what one immediately asks onerself when hearing a new record. It´s also - as someone already has said - worth to honor the performers. - And in the new world of media, where the old ´copyright´ is on its way to disappear totally, YT doesn´t block or delete for alleged "rights". IF, they would have had to do it with tens of thousands of music videos.

Beautifull! But please respect and honor the performers by naming them.

beautiful as always :)
@ Mala4646 - This is one of several copies floating around on YT of a bad, speeded-up copy of the original - the 1970 Nicolaus Harnoncourt / Concentus Musicus / Wiener Sängerknaben recording. This copy is faster, thus higher toned and thinner in sound both as to the soloist and the instruments. The BCSD editor of the H/L series of Bach cantatas wrongly guesses the soprano to be Peter Jelosits (far too young in 1970!). Former WSK singers recently told the soloist was Josef Luftensteiner.

This is NOT an accelerated version of 1970 Harnoncourt's version (which, by the way, can be found here: watch?v=vqrCJOkzQnE).
This is Rilling's version (1980). I know it is so, because I took it from a 2003 BWV 1-3 Hänssler reedition CD that I actually own. If you doubt this, just do an internet search for "Amazon BWV 1 Rilling" and then listen to the samples.
The performing soprano here (Rilling's version) is the Danish Inga Nielsen (1946-2008).

@The30YearOldVirgin - There was indeed 3-4 years ago someone who intentionally, or with bad equipment un-intentionally, uploaded accelerated versions of different Bach pieces. When I ordered these to be taken away, it was done, but other people in their turn had recorded the false ones, and I thought your very fast recording could be a remnant of that. - Something that had been avoided, if you not always had left out the important, not to say necessary, info about performers. Why on earth?

When I first opened this channel, I always used to give credit to all the performers. As a result, many of my videos were claimed by copyright owners and even blocked in some countries.
That’s why I stopped crediting the performers. I am not making a profit out of this channel; nor do I intend to. My only objective is to make classical music more available to the general public, especially for those younger folks who seem to be inebriated with the likes of Bieber and Gaga.
