In the latest installment of the RAISE Hope for Congo podcast series, Enough interviews Vital Voices Fern Holland Award-Winner Chouchou Namegabe Nabintu. A passionate young journalist from the South Kivu province, Chouchou has been a brave and pioneering voice for survivors of sexual violence in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo through radio broadcasts. Chouchou founded South Kivus Association of Women Journalists (Association des Femmes des Médias du Sud Kivu or AFEM) in 2003, which works to increase womens representation in the media, mentors female journalists, and advocates for womens rights, particularly in rural communities, in eastern Congo.

i am a woman... i wish that Africa never have rich land, problem of Africa would'nt be these way. all asia western all of them they want Africa and the people of Africa is in the way of their needs. i pray to the father the son and the holy spirit to give all the rich land to those who want it and let african people for once get their peace.

Why do we choose to keep focusing on the Democratic Republic of the Congo when the situation is so painful?
Because every person counts. Whatever we can do to reduce suffering in some way is worth it.
