FROM PATHE:

JACK SIMPSON, 19/11/1936

Duration: 02 mins 49 secs
Black & White with Sound

Musician Jack Simpson shows off his skills on tuned percussion instrument.

Possibly filmed in Pathe Studio, London.

Shots of multi-instrumentalist Jack Simpson, who normally plays with Ambrose's Band.

We first see him playing on a drum kit. Then we hear him play one of his own compositions on the xylophone. CU of sticks playing on xylophone.

We hear Jack play a tune on the vibraphone, he is accompanied by a colleague on an accordion. Finally we see him playing on a small set of tubular bells.

  • Hi, I like your video and have rated it as awesome. Please check out my vid clip on some rare jazz musicians and dance band Leaders cigarette cards, issued in 1936. They include Ambrose, Cab Calloway, Duke Ellington and many more.
