This is not a review, walkthrough, playthrough, or demonstration of my playing ability.
It's more a case of me speaking my thoughts while playing the games, many for the first time, and most for the first time in a very long time... so it's all a little spontaneous and random.
Predictably, as I never practice before recording, I usually play very badly.

Given that I am playing many of these games for the first time, and everything I say is completely off the cuff, you probably shouldn't take what I say overly seriously. The opinions that I express are my feelings at the time, but it's entirely possible that they would be different if I were to take the time to get to grips with the game.

However, given that these videos are intended to show that "first time experience", I believe they have some validity or merit.

Dang, a digitized Al Michaels doing the voiceover! And swearing! Now that's rad. Otherwise, I think I'll stick to the EA games on the Genny. I do like the perspective though, it's a neat trick to look at.

This game goes twice as fast as it should. Same thing with the EA NHL games. This makes them unplayable in my mind because you get a power play that ends up being one minute long. There was never any space to navigate because the players were too big and the zones were too small. Wayne Gretzky Hockey on the Amiga while not as pretty was a much better simulation of hockey. In retrospect these 16 bit hockey games were horrible. Much better on the PC, where the clock was timed correctly.

@28steryan Sounds like F1GPEd, which is what I use to update mine. Actually, I use a couple of versions of that, coz one will alter the framerate, while the other is better for other stuff.

@SteveBenway I hear you man, Microprose F1 is the bollocks, despite its age, The later version of that Alien F1 was quite good to, and a guy did a hack for Geoff's masterpiece, where you could re-design the cars, helmets and drivers to suit the current season, it's probably available on-line via a Lha or Lzx file.

@28steryan Pretty much, but when you get to see the guys smack each other around with those sticks, there's got to be some entertainment value there? Personally, the only sport I watch is F1, though oddly I don't bother with it in video games much. (Except when by Geoff Crammond on the Amiga)
