Someone else commented that this has a Zeppelin influence..I was thinking Robert Plant almost immediately. The vocal and guitar are tight..like old bluesmen answer and call, or like Pink Floyd's Wish you Were Here ( at the end). I think you're on to something from a creative stand point. From an engineering stand point...play with the eq some more and don't be afraid to thin the guitar out a little. And this sounded mono for some reason, or is it just me? Anyway, I really liked it.
