Playing the 1981 classic "The Break Up Song" by The Greg Kihn Band. What a great bar band song! Using my Fender Telecaster through a Marshall JCM2000 on the clean channel with a Boss TR-2 Tremolo and a Boss DD-3 Digital Delay for effects.

My first attempt at shooting in front of a green screen and doing a chroma key overlay on a background. Just picked a few random particle backgrounds to test different settings. I had no idea it could be so difficult to get the lighting properly setup to shoot in front of a green screen. Especially in a dark basement. I had to use six 120Watt Brooder lights to get rid of all the shadows!

  • hey this is my new feature vid! knew i'd get around to it!! ;) rock on man!! \m/

  • chords?:D

  • Question, where'd you get this version of the song? All the other versions I find are a lot slower. Great cover, great song. Good job dude!

  • Probably the closest I've heard to nailing the actual guitar sound of the recording. One of the most popular covers for bands in my locale.

  • Looks like there's rain in the forecast. Sounds awesome!! Brings back early MTV. Well played!!

  • @korgrandi Thanks man! Yeah the lighting was a bitch! I had to get 6 120W brooder Lights to make this happen. Not going to do every video with a background as the electricity for the lights will cost a small fortune!
