  • wait wait wait.... You're WIll Smith?

  • Just to let you know, espresso is not (supposed to be) made with steam. There are steam driven espresso machines out there (the type of thing you buy at walmart for 30 bucks), but good espresso machines are pump-driven. I have not used the Aeropress myself yet but I hear you can produce some pretty espresso-like shots (creme and all) if you do it correctly.

  • I drank 2 cups with that amount of coffee in it and felt like I was ODing on caffeine. It tasted excellent, but 2 scoops is a lot for a mere 10-12 oz. Just tried my first cup with 1 scoops and it tastes pretty good.

  • that coffee cup would go skidding across the table sooner or later

  • @TCFan25 Sorry but I don't understand your question. If you are talking about the ideal time for your shot then for single would be around 20-25 sec and 25-30 sec for double but there is no hard and fast rule for this. A trained barista does not time their shot they use their eye to stop it when the crema starts to get blond.

  • @klarinetta So thats what 15/20 secs?

  • A few tips I picked up which I will now try from now on i.e moisten the filter, not adding overboiled water, moisten the coffee grounds before adding all the water.

What is so special about other ppls 'inverted method'???

  • what is that pot he used to boil the water in?

  • Well done! This is the best explanation of making coffee with the Aeropress that I've seen. We love our Aeropress. It takes a lot more coffee to make a good cup that we re used to, but the results are fabulous! Now I know why commercial establishments charge so much!

  • I love my AeroPress. Had mine for about 2 years now. At home we have a french press, espresso machine and regular auto-drip coffee maker. It takes me about 2 minutes to make a cup & clean up with the AeroPress. Faster than the other methods. For me, the bit of effort is worth it to attain a superior cup that exceeds the other methods.
