DirectGuitar 2.0 is an innovative 9Gb electric guitar sample library for NI Kontakt 2-3 direct recorded for amp simulator.
It means that the electric guitar has been recorded directly to the sound card exactly like when you plug a real electric guitar into it. In this way you can add your favorite amp simulator such as NI Guitar Rig or Amplitube and shape the sound as you wish.

Each selector is 1.2 Gb and about 720 samples at 24Bit 96Khz, full sustain, natural decay (no loops), 3 velocity layers, round robin for alternate picking.

It means that if you hit a key repeatedly you can hear two different samples, upstroke and downstroke pick instead of that typical unnatural sound coming from the same sample

DirectGuitar 2.0 has everything you need for creating a real guitar track.

@pettinhouse So I recently bought this and am kind of at a loss regarding how to do any kind of palm mutes, pinches etc. I figured it was something to do with velocity and modulation but the mod wheel only seems to change vibrato and velocity... well, the velocity.

Any advice?

@x7VenGeaNcE7x, consider that a songwriter lacks skill with a certain instrument, yet wants to write a piece for it using an instrument he is proficient in so that a guitarist can later legitimately play it.

For me this would work perfectly. Why?

Good enough guitar = $500+

Guitar lessons = Lots of time

Mics, Amps, or Distortion software = $200-1000+

And even then in recording audio as opposed to midi performance you've gota ll kinds of new things to learn and look out for. Static, clicks, and keeping all of that equipment in good shape.

MIDI is an amazing thing. Without it, a music composer or producer would have to pay for every single instrumentalist or learn it all.

Very impressive, but as a guitarist, this is definitely no replacement. It just isn't possible to capture the emotion 1 note at a time. But, it's this comparison that I now look at MY virtual instruments and wonder how realistic they sound to their respective musicians. I understand why they were created and great work!!!
