The "gender" is who we are! It sometimes get mixed up! That's the way Nature is and it's no problem!
The "cultural background" has nothing to do with it! Otherwise, Homosexuals could sue their Parents!

@Mikeybetts Wow, lol-- You got voted DOWN, but what you had to say is true. We're products of nature AND nurture.
-
@Mikeybetts All you've done is stated things that are, you haven't shown how they are in any way natural. That's if even what a lot of you say is even true.

@Mikeybetts . . . Idiot. . .

This is more than excellent. It's a kind of validation. I'm Genderqueer and I remember being a kid and wondering why in the world I should pretend to be a complete moron, flouncing around in whatever was fashionable and painting myself for boys that had no sense either, just like the girls on TV. I feel lucky that I was able to see past this 'codification' of gender early on. I really wish more people would watch this.

I would disagree about gender identity not being inherent, to some extent. Identification with a gender tends to be an innate thing, with some supporting evidence (cases of trans people, and David Reimer).
However, I do agree that gender presentation and performance, and the importance we put on gender, and the attributes we give it, are cultural.
