Matt Simms -- University of Tennessee

This is a four-game compilation highlight tape of Matt Simms playing for El Camino College in 2009. These are not necessarily the best throws of the season, but you'll get an idea of how smooth he is and you will see how really strong his arm is; he can throw with NFL quarterbacks right now and he is only 20-years old (at the time of this video). Matt is a very accurate, natural thrower that has the ability to read defenses and go through his progressions. Even though his father is Phil Simms (Super Bowl MVP) it is remarkable that a 20-year old can go through progressions this consistently. Now that he will have division-one level coaching, he is only going to get better... a lot better. The University of Tennessee did will with this acquisition.

Not at all I just grouped the throws into categories starting with some deep passes. He has a lot of different types of throws I even put a swing route or two on there just to show a well-rounded thrower. I do that for all the highlight tapes I do so the viewer can get an idea of how consistent a quarterback is on each type of throw. I show groups of deep passes, deep outs, seam routes and others. Perhaps I put too many deep passes on there..

@FightOn2VICTORY you didn't watch the whole film session then...i have seen quick slants, roll-outs, and him just finding the open receiver on check downs.....sounds like bama or fla fan comment to me.
