Macworld SF 2003 part 3

If you could only ever see one Macworld keynote with Steve Jobs, this would be it. In the final half hour of this Macworld, Mr. Jobs was at the top of his game with the audience completely eating out of his hand. Apple had the technology introductions to back it up too: the world's first 17in widescreen notebook, the first full featured 12in notebook, first ever introduction of 802.11g, first ever backlit keyboard, first introduction of firewire 800. With each introduction the audience goes crazy, and Steve continues to bring them out with perfect salesman timing.

In the final part Steve wraps it all up and shows us some of the TV commercials they have lined up. I edited the Apple internal promo from this part as it was a bit long and unnecessary.

Fixed the sync issue with the audio. The file was fine, youtube screwed up. So I reupped it and it works now.

the second ad was the best ever! But we need something like the G4 Cube again, with the power of the mac pro and the price of the imac. Maybe the Intel Cube!

Yeah in public these competitors mouth off and dismiss Apple but in reality we all know they love the setup. They lie back and let Apple innovate and take the risks, using them as market research, and then ride on their coattails afterwards. Didn't see many touchscreens before the Touch and iPhone. Didn't see many backlit keyboards before the Powerbook. Truth is they like Apple to test the waters for them, and then they can just flood the market with a high volume of (often inferior) imitations.
