heya mark, so happy you're finally into the chromatic!! and I'm honored for having asked you to show us something on it, the results are terrific. I've got so many chromatic songs ready to be recorded myself, if only I had some more free time. Please keep posting, maybe you can put a mirror behind the kalimba so that we can also see when you play the chromatics :D God bless you maestro, and do come to Rome sometime!!! ;)

Hi, a question from a potential buyer... One side of this Kalimba (with 15 notes) is the exact same and same notes found on the HT Alta? and then the 13 chromatic notes on the back are in addition to the 15 alto notes on the front? What im getting at... I want to be able to play the same songs that you can on an alto kalimba with just one of the sides on this model? Thanks

@jamielongmusic Yes - front side is just like the 15 note Hugh Tracey Alto Kalimba.
The back 11 notes are the "flats" -- actually F natural is on the back as the
"flat" of the F# on the front.
YES - it is really a ganga - you get all these extra notes, for just a few dollars more than an ALTO, and it IS an ALTO on the front.

Is it possible to play that song on other kalimba, not chromatic?

@kiiiksas The Entertainer is a song that absolutely requires chromatic notes. Nowhere Man properly requires chromatic notes in the harmonies, but one can fake it without chromatics (as i did).
