Although Alice Farmer's report, "A Violent Education" has been released now for nearly a year, approx. a quarter million children, many of whom have special needs and lack verbal language, have been beaten since, that is since August 20, 2008.

The teachers beating our children are sadistic, racist, sexist, mentally unstable, domineering, bullying, power fixated, homophobic, and have spanking fetishes, while others fit into the category of simply being "old-school," and uneducated on the harm that these beatings cause our children.

What ever the condition is of the teachers beating our children, they are destroying their victims' confidence, self-esteem, ability to internalize moral values, ability to relate to others and solve problems peacefully. They are turning them into school haters, authority haters, and training them to do the same to others when they are in a position to "dish it out," thus positioning them for a path that leads to crime and dysfunctional relationships.

Is it because the primary targets are Black Americans, particularly boys, Native Americans, Latinos, and children with special needs that the Government Accountability Office (GAO) is failing TO DO ITS JOB of holding Congress "ACCOUNTABLE" for adhering to the U S Constitution, thereby protecting children in these states and in our territories from harm.

The "Equal Protection" clause of the 14th amendment is being violated with every swing of the paddle by our teachers and administrators. The "Due Process of Law" clause is violated each time parents are turned away from seeking justice for the harm caused to their children by teachers and administrators. The 8th amendment is violated each time a child is beaten, duct taped, shoved into crawl spaces, bungy cord tied, and made to urinate on themselves and miss meals while locked in small dark rooms. Yes! Read all about it in the GAO and ACLU reports at our website.

Our government knows about these abuses and fatalities but continue to avoid saying the four letter word...STOP!

Our children need responsible caring adults to find out how they can help bring this dark chapter of American history to a close so that they, too, may gain "Equal Protection" under the U S Constitution.

Visit TheHittingStopsHere.com and click on "Help Support Our Work" and get started helping our children to safety, right away.

Our children are counting on responsible caring adults hearing their cries for safety.

Thank you,

The Hitting Stops Here!

  • They will only recieve immunity if they are in one of the states where corporal punishment is legal. In extension, there is a profound difference in coporal punishment and sexual assualt (execpt possibliy in a male-female situation). If the boy was found with his genitiles brusied, there is no question it was sexual assualt. There should be no immunity.

If corporal punishment is proven to be disperportional, it violates their 14th admendment right via the 1954 Brown vs. School Board ruling.

  • Dear ac51979,

They would only need immunity in consenting states.

(Hooray!!! to Ted Strickland for bringing Ohio into the 21st century this week...20 to go!)

I'm not trying to be rude here, really, but would you test your theory on the difference between sexual assault and corporal punishment. Ask someone to spank your buttocks with a wooden board this week and see if that act of corporal punishment feels a little sexual.

    Thank you.

No need to get back to me on that one.

  • Corporal punishment never hurt any kid when administered correctly. I ought to know. I was one of those kids. Receiving those paddlings shaped my character to know that there is right and wrong. Do your research guys.

  • so I read this report. It makes a lot of sence to me. this was the first I have heard of this report. However the only possible way that you could get this is protest. I will probably end up calling the seneters of the state. This does need to get out as you said. This shouldn't be legal. I believe you should call the poloticians in your state. They would help. I do believe that this shouldn't happen. The beating of students is wrong.

  • I wonder if corporal punishment was banned in the Chicago school district where the young black honors student was killed by other young black men. As liberals continue to coddle, protect and make excuses for a youth culture which continues to lack respect and honor, the violence will only escalate. Sadly, those who will suffer the most from this chain of events are, and will continue to be, other young people as we saw in Chicago.

    Paula, your efforts are misplaced.

  • Excellent job keep it up Paula!

  • Children's Civil Rights INEQUALITY exists in 21st Century Classrooms, Physical (Corporal) Punishment of Children in SCHOOLS, still legal and practiced in 21 states. It is ILLEGAL in 29 states to hit a child with a wooden paddle in SCHOOLS. Over 50 National Health and Education Organizations are Opposed Physical (Corporal) Punishment of Children in SCHOOLS. Federal govt. must ABOLISH Corporal Punishment of ALL Children in ALL American Schools!
