In 2008, Phoenix Children's Hospital broke ground on a $588 million expansion that will transform us from the Hospital we are today to a nationally renowned pediatric medical campus and set a new standard in children's healthcare.
We celebrated a construction milestone on December 15, 2009 - our 50 percent completion mark. This video is the first look inside the new Hospital tower.
The vision for this new Phoenix Children's Hospital is to enhance clinical programs and increase overall capacity in our unique, kid-friendly environment of family-centered care. By renovating in phases, the Hospital will do all this and more without ever shutting our doors or compromising the level of service this community has come to expect from Phoenix Children's Hospital.
When the expansion is complete, we will have:
- an 11-story tower
- 96 PICU/CICU rooms
- 12 more operating rooms
- All private rooms
- 1,500 new parking spaces
- 626 licensed beds, 520 beds in all-private-room setting
