Overseeing all the activities involved in product manufacturing requires management and organizational skills, as well as your ability to successfully negotiate, persuade, and compromise.

Usually, your time is divided between office work and the production floor. Your responsibilities include production planning, budgeting, scheduling, and determining when extra shifts, new technologies, or new machines are needed to meet deadlines. You also monitor the manufacturing process, resolving problems as they arise to ensure that production is not only completed on time and on budget, but also meets or exceeds quality standards.
