  • I have to admit, if the Vulture RL ever came to the US, I probably think it would be the olny RL that would give the Leach 2R a run for it's money!! But having said, I would have to observe both of their backpack cycle performance side by side in bulk and commerical collection real closely!!

  • The one thing they have in common is when the blade opens at the beginning of the cycle, it just looks as though it is going to come down and drag you in as well!

  • The only RL more fun to watch than a Vulture is a Revopak, and those are getting pretty tough to find these days!

Of course, we don't have either type of truck here in the US....

  • Having said that I haven't seen a Revopak working in anger in Britain for 20 years now....apart from a preserved one a couple of years ago. There are moves with a bunch of guys I keep in contact with to bring one back from Malta and restore it.

Vulture (or GPM as it's now called) is popular - only trouble is more and more local authorities now have completely closed back trucks now so you can't see the packer working....loose bag collection is getting rarer and rarer now.

  • HEADS-UP!

That stuff does not want to stay in the truck and is shooting back out like missiles...LOL!

These Vultures are the coolest RL trucks yet!

Wish we had them here in the US...:)

  • Having said that - I was in the US a year ago and loved seeing a Leach 2R in the flesh for the first time ever!

  • i very happy about this video

  • I have always loved lorrys since i was a kid - i just love the noise they make especially ones with hydraulics - im a big kid at heart i guess

  • True! After seeing the Leach2R crushing that small car on the CRT site, imagine what damage the Vulture can do to anything bigger!! Jesus, I probably would get nightmares lol!!!

  • Glad to hear that one is being restored!

Closed back trucks are very boring but I understand, it's all about safety so as the liability concerns become greater, the trucks become more boring...:(

The same is happening here in the states...

We used to run MSLs for residential waste for the most part here in CA. but now, almost all ASLs and even the MRFs and landfills are set-up where private vehicles dump in a different area so it is very hard to get close to the trucks as they unload...

  • Yeah, those are pretty nice but also very rare here now. The US has gone mostly to ASLs for residential waste and FLs for commercial. Both are boring designs to me...
