  • Unfortunately its true, TECs biggest weakness is the connect rods. I ripped the stock rod to pieces in my TEC H70 rebuild (luckily it didn't go through the crankcase) and struck out trying to locate a billet replacement. Going to move up to my TEC HM100, i'm told that ARC Racing stcoks a billet rod for this engine.

  • Yes, very well, must have when running on dirt or back roads as i don't want any debris getting sucked into the carb - check out my other TEC H70 running videos for examples

  • Hope it runs well for you - fyi the TEC H60 engine is what the H50 racing engine was based on, probably would well on a kart.

  • check my other vids for the TEC H70 with the straight pipe w/o the muffler

  • i think i here a knock man listen close i here a snap BOOM hole in block commin happens to ALL tecs

  • @benrobinson72 - cant' be man, the vids more than a year old and i just ran the kart yesterday, listen to the other vids of the kart / 7 hp posted - only holes in TECs i've seen were by idiots who ran them out of oil or mistreated them....

  • me and my friend put a h80 on our go cart. we got it up to 35mph in 100 feet. well until we blown the head gasket and a rod shot out of it. today we put a honda gx 140 on it. it does the same speed with out it trying.

  • is that one of those air intake adapters for the filters? do they work well?

  • @pivotboy63 - Ya, if you are gonna put a muffler on, why not eliminate the slightly restrictive pipe and just have the muffler on. You would get better performance if you had one, or the other, but not both.

  • @dragata1 - I have an Argo with a 35 year old Tecumseh 16hp on it and there isn't a thing wrong with it. I have had problems with Tecumseh's before, but I have had just as many problems with Kohler's, Brigg's and Honda's. I don't get why everyone rips on them.

  • i have an h60 on my tiller

  • @openwheelmanic hey i had a 5.5 tec i ran it good i changed the oil every 3 mounths and next i know the engine is shooting parts and bits of metel at me the whole engine never even ran full throttle
