S80 2010 Nothin But Spin

This video was taken by my daughter I just happen to be the observer and Uncle Steve is driving. At this stage we are unsure of how it happened as the boat was just setting up for a corner. As it first went of coarse it corrected itself however it was heading now at 90 deg to the river and straight at the bank. The quick thinking by Steve I truely believe saved the lives of several people on the bank. It was apparent that a right hand turn was not going to work and no turn would send the boat up the bank into the crowd. His only option was to spin the boat hard left which thankfully flicked out the back and spun the nose 180 deg away from the bank. My part in the hole event was to hang on and hope I stayed within the boat. Problem was in doing so made contact with Steve and broke is LH Fore arm. Up to this point we were 33 minutes into the race and looking at doing a mid 35 our best S80 ever. I personally would like to thank Steve for his quick thinking and avoiding the 30 OD crowd on the bank. Sorry to the skiers Craig and Ray. Although we may not have won our class it would have been a great time for the little 1850 Bullet. Looks like the rest of the River Classics are out as Steve will be in a cast for upto 8 weeks. I really hope that all those peopel on the bank are OK and not suffering any ill thoguhts of ski racing. Until we strip down the boat and find a cause we can only put this down to an unlucky incident that thankfully turned out OK.

Gordo--Jesus Christ! I love the Aussies but from viewing this video I now can understand how your wonderful country got started as a penal colony! That is insane racing, skiing and driving!
