They were incredible. The best quality ingredients. The buns were better than anywhere else. They'd cook your burger to order too. I always got 2 Mushroom burgers with cheese and fried onions. Shakes made fresh with milk and real ice cream. As you see the menu was very fairly priced. That's why they lasted 46 years. They probably could have kept going much longer if the land owner didn't want to get a better deal.
It's for BA oil company( British-American). There were BA gas stations all over the place in western Canada in the '60s. In those days gas was cheap, they'd pump it for you, clean your windshield and check your oil and give you bonuses like drinking glasses or a big bottle of pop on top of it. Those days gone for good.
Well, there's one up in North Vancouver now at Cates Park and apparently they're going to open another one in East Van.
