  • Atomevil I'm sorry but I chose to remove your comment not bc of your opinion on Basia, but I just could not deal w/ the grammatical errors and the mispelled words. It would have left many kids who loved Basia to attack you and like the reply to your message stated all my posts are in honor. I don't like some comments but I have been taught to respect everyone thoughts even if they differ from mine.

  • Basia is letting the children and plus she is performing one of my favorite songs Yesterday by Miss Debelah Morgan

  • Actually the artist of the song is Deborah Cox and it's entitled "I Never Knew".

  • Yes ma'am miss basia. she set the bar for the jacksonville girls to be a lady and graceful and most of all rich. I wish I had the pleasure of seeing her perform unfortunately she was before my time. To a lovely lady, you will be missed yet never forgotten for you were great.

  • Man what a BEAUTIFUL gown on a BEAUTIFUL Lady. I wish I could have met her. RIP

  • Captial B-A-S-I-A.. BASIA..

  • Most of the gay kids that recorded all of Basia's pageants in Columbia, SC have either moved away or died away. Can some of her children in Florida put some more of her performances on YouTube. It's a shame that she did ALL of those pageants and no one has placed them or convert those VHS to digital video. I will be waiting to see which one will be posted next.

  • Oh yes, one of the best performers that ever lived. Legendary, a truth that sometimes the good die young. Basia was a major impersonation talent. I had the great pleasure of seeing her perform many times and even once judged a pageant that she most definitely won hands down! Truly missed and one of the very best!!!

  • @reneusofa Your gay mother was a trip! Sometimes she would be in between shows or pageants and walk around Columbia, SC. with a full beard and breasts. We had so much fun! We used to call her the bearded lady. LOL!!!!!!!!! I miss her a lot. I remember being backstage taping everything up from her tuck to her nipple pasties. In 1992, she used to stay with me in my condo whenever she came to Columbia. Hit me up sometimes when you want to know more about your mother; smootches ♥

  • @2710Pocahontas Basia was my Gay ma, & I always thought she gave a different outlook on drag.

  • @2710Pocahontas Basia was my Gay Mother.

  • I knew Basia (Roosevelt) very well from the late 80's to the early 90's. Believe it or not, Basia started out doing "Prince" impersonations. It was so funny seeing Basia doing a male number dancing like she was a showgirl. LOL!!! We used to always sit around Wella's house and Reegie's (RIP Robert Wolley) at 1222 Greg Street playing around in drag. Wella put her then lover (Roosevelt) in drag and the rest was history. After going to Jacksonville, Basia came back pumped out of her mind!!

  • @TASHUN1980 I know right! RIP mami:(

  • @Latrinia81 I second that...I remeber being blown away when I first seen her...girl came out with pasties on her tits! The niggas were drooling, hell even I was! R.I.P.Basia:(
