Decided to call a buddy and make him drive me to a friends house while I flew my RC plane FPV style. Left Lakeville MN headed for Rosemount MN and came up just short from my destination. Will attempt again soon...

I live near an airforce base, and if I flew one of my larger more metallic planes with live monitors, they'd send cops.

What is the max range of an RC plane signal? In other words how far can you fly before you lose the signal and in turn control of your plane? I own a good bit of land and it would be cool to fly around it in FPV.

@Master7770 With my current setup that I am using now, which is a Futaba 7C 2.4Ghz. I've been told the stock range is about 1 mile line of sight. I have only flown about a mile and didn't push it much further than that. There are TX/RX's available that will allow 10+ miles of range with a few modifications. The video range is about 3 miles with the appropriate antenna configuration.
