Space Shuttle Gliding In Over our House

On August 9th, 2005, the Space Shuttle was directed to come in from its space mission for a landing on the west coast due to bad weather the previous few days on the east coast.

I stayed up late the night it was due in and watched it on TV, heard the sonic boom at around 1am and waited a little bit, then went outside with my cousin and looked up and saw the glow of the shuttle quietly gliding in from high up. It's destination was Edwards air force base which is about 45 mins to an hour northeast of where we were in Northridge, CA.

YOUR screen was black. Turn up the brightness or contrast because there's definitely a white dot to be seen in the center of the screen. It's pretty boring to watch but it IS the space shuttle so it was cool to see over the skies of Los Angeles when you're not used to seeing it there too often.

I've video taped the ISS with the shuttle attached but it is very similar to this... a small dot of light. Cool because it is sunlight reflecting off the space crafts.

theres no lights on the shuttle copterman. The shuttle is visible because of the high temperatures and the ionized air in form of plasma surrounding the shuttle. This is because of the friction from when the shuttle hits the athmosphere:)

I saw it! Although I'm not sure if it was the space shuttle. I thought it only had a rotating beacon light, which is red, and that's on top. Nice job on following it.
