http://www.HardKnock.tv Reflection Eternal (Hi-Tek and Talib Kweli) talk to Hard Knock TV's Devi Dev about the impact of Dr Dre's Chronic album and how Gansta rap dominated music in 1993. Hi- Tek also talks about being signed to Dre's aftermath label as a producer, how Dre is a mentor to him and how people perceive Dre. He also talks about the status of Detox. Some memorable quotes from this interview from Tek: "If you cant make the Dre cut That's your fault"..."Dre has built nothing but superstars"..."You don't deserve producer credit if you don't produce, just because you make a beat doesn't make you a producer!"

  • Hi Tek should be humble but not TOO humble.

he has some classics of his own.

All I got to say is 'Respiration'.

That's just one of at least 50 bangers.

    legend potential.

The Blackstar album is his 'Chronic'

  • @bitemybeanerass in your opinion. As a producer myself I think Dre is the most methodical producer and best imo. DRE IS A BEAST!!!!!!!!!!!

  • im still waiting for detox

  • Name of the end track please

  • @Ballsinger agreed

  • @avalanchecanvass You mean as opposed to when he actually was 20 and made songs about smoking weed, going to the club and taking drugs?

  • @LIBERATIONUNIT too humbles all you can be, Dre's made many people with just the potential in to sumthin bigger than what rap meant at the time (snoop, eminem, 50, the game)

  • @avalanchecanvass When was the last time you listened to Dre?2001 Album?

  • @NewGeneration20111 Is that really your answer?!? Yes at SOME point in time he's worked w/ those people, but I said RECENTLY. Game...yes, 50...yes, G-Unit...NO, D12...NO, Cube's recent albums...NO, Mary J. Blige...I think you get the idea.

All I was saying is that producers like Timbaland, Swizz Beatz, DJ Khaled, Will.i.am have one thing in common. They're everywhere...in hip hop you gotta be getting around. I know about quality over quantity, but Detox was supposed to come out back in 2004 FFS!

  • @pimptastic13 Dre has produced more than just eminem in the past years hello game, g-unit, 50, D12, ice cube, snoop, mary j blige not to mention all the countless other people he's produced for
