1966 Porsche 912

The car was given a professional new paint job in the past. In the year 2005 the car was sold to the Netherlands to the second owner with only 27.000 miles on the clock! The cautious owner had the engine overhauled in the year 2006. In the year 2009 this 912 won the first price in a national concours. It's too hard to call the 912 the poor mans 911. The 912 was all about the look and stlying with a 4 cylinder 1.6 liter performance enhanced VW Air Cooled engine delivering 90HP. As for 911's the 912 styling is present but Porsche went further with its Engine Plant going to 6 cylinder 2.2 liter engine. I,m a VW Beetle person with an interest in 912's cause they are along the same theme. 912's are rarer to find than 911's. One of these days I want to have a 912 as stable mate for my VW.

So is the Karmann ghia, the 914, the GTI. (Seems like a lot of other vw's/porsche are poor mans 911's :P)
