Does anyone think that picture at the beginning was Maynard mocking Marilyn Manson?

Nah, that picture is from the Undertow album art. It was likely taken in 1992, a few years before Manson made videos for Tourniquet and Beautiful People where he was using that mouth spreading apparatus... pretty sure it's just old dental equipment.

Plus I think Manson and Maynard have some... vague ... mutual respect for each other as artists. Can't say I can think of any specific reference where they've worked together or talked about each other... But they seem to be like-minds to a degree.

What I love is the fact that Smells Like Teen Spirit was the overplayed song that Kurt always refused to play in concert or, when he DID play it, would purposely fuck it up to prove a point.

This guy is a serious genius! I don't know how many people would've responded so quickly like that with such an intelligent reply.

I agree with most of you though, Maynard needs an interviewer to challenge him... not a laughing retard in the background !!

Marilyn Manson is a smart dude, but he is what Maynard would be if he was a self-absorbed, schizophrenic coke addict. Manson is intelligent, but he's got major issues. Not someone I would want to be around.

Does anyone think that picture at the beginning was Maynard mocking Marilyn Manson? Hell NO!!!! That picture was out 10 years before Marilyn was ever heard of. This pic is in the sleeve of the undertow album. I'm sorry if I may have exaggerated on the amount of years but I assure you nonetheless that this was out before anything ever know of Marilyn Manson. Undertow came out approx '91 and Portrait of an American Family came out around '94 or '95.
