WE DIDN'T LISTEN!

@blacktigerpaw1 Would i throw away the word of the 3%?
Well 3% didnt disagree, hardly any did. They just want to be absolutely sure in their own mind before they agree. 20 years ago it was 60/40, 10 years ago it was 75/25, in 2007 it was 97/3, people dont all accept things right away in any field it doesnt mean the conclusion is false or that they disagree. The ones that do, failed to explain the warming by any other method, so yes if they cannot explain it sufficiently i would ignore them.

@blacktigerpaw1 I suggested conspiracy since i am aware of the consensus. If this consensus is true but global warming isnt happening, or isnt CO2 related,,, then it must be a conspiracy by scientists to lie to everyone on the planet. By definition that must be the case. They are either doing it for themselves or they are being paid to do it, but like i said it makes no sense since the most powerful industries (oil) have all the power to lobby and fabricate science to support their interests.
-
@blacktigerpaw1 No it was not fake, and just telling me it is shows me that you distrust honest research. It was performed by a reputable university and wasnt even supposed to be an acid test to support GW alarmism, it was just an interest poll measuring the difference in opinion between the publics view and the scientists view.
The public was 50/50 the expert scientists was 97/3.
But like i said you are arguing against every national academy and its members when you claim its really 50/50.

@blacktigerpaw1 Because nowhere in the scientific literature has it predicted that the polar caps would melt by the year 2000, that just sounds like newspaper headlines not responsible, objective scientific analysis. Floods have happened as well as droughts, but noone has concluded that they are directly related to global warming. Again the news media has reported both ways on the issue regardless of what was in the peer review science, so i dont blame you for your confusion on this.
-
@blacktigerpaw1 Ignoring personal attacks, yes i explained i am not a scientist. So yes my opinion is based on the work of people who do know what they are talking about as well as my own laymen interest in science (i have read a lot of science books and papers for almost 6 years now, as well as keeping informed on different topics).
So im not an expert nor do i pretend to be, i would rather you read real science papers and not skeptical journalists and 1 sided presentations on the matter.
-
@blacktigerpaw1 The actual climate scientists who do disagree with AGW are the same names i have seen over and over for a decade - pat michaels, john christy, richard lindzen etc and a few other people who pretend to be climate experts like christopher monckton, tim ball, david bellamy and the like, who dont have relevant expertise, dont write for peer review but like to pretend that they matter.
Of the geniune ones that do publish, their work is flawed and they havent rebutted in years.
-
@blacktigerpaw1 yes 32,000 scientists known to be THE active ones who are engaged in researching and publishing papers on climate almost totally agree the earths current warming is man made.
I dont know what you mean by there being 32,000 more climate experts that disagree?
If it was 50/50 then i wouldnt take sides since the debate would be so close. To my knowledge hardly any scientists actively disagree, the ones with any doubt are just reserving judgement.
-
@blacktigerpaw1 Dramatic warming? No they show warming of fractions of a degree C, but such warming on the surface is not the same as warming in the ocean. Ocean temperatures are FAR warmer now than they were since they absorb more heat than the air. Perhaps if you read any real science papers you would have seen them?
All of those institutions agree the earth is warming, even the skeptics agree the earth is warming. Why do you seem to think we arent?
-
@blacktigerpaw1 Then you are off by 18,500 years which is the next expected ice age.
Not a small error, you might want to check that.
Looks like a fairly accurate description of the hysteria that is being whipped up by governments. So glad the real evidence doesn't agree with their predictions based on flawed models!
