Santos' weakness is his actual defending, which he is improving all the time. He's excellent going forward and is a great finisher... just ask Chelsea. I prefer him at left back to Gibbs who seems lightweight, very injury prone,and defensively nothing to write home about. And whoever believes Gibbs is better than Ashley Cole was for us is only saying that because of the way Cole left.

@FiNdLaY47 Clichy was alright but I get you're point, you feel Clichy is not that much better than GIbbs. Defensively Gibbs is a calamity. Offensively he's a threat. So we cant start the season with only 2 left backs (Armand Traore and Kieran Gibbs) so we need at least one more. Baines, Enrique and Drenthe are not bad suggestions.

@kevin084life mate didnt say i agreed with him but thats what wenger said!! think he might know a little more than me or you though mate.. also i didnt rate clichy that highly so for gibbs to play wouldnt be that much of a downgrade!!

@FiNdLaY47 First of all Kieran Gibbs and Armand Traore are not good enough to start against the big boys. Plus (IF Arsenal don't buy any defenders) when Vermaelen plays left back there won't be good enough center backs to start games, so he need to stay where he is at center half. But if he converts Vermaelen to left back he should get another centre back to fill in for him.
