It really does not take 100 years. It is more like about 25 years and in some cases only as little as 11 years if the plant is cultivated well. I planted one in my front yard last year it is already 10 times it's original size . They are very neat looking plants.

i saw a huge 1 of those it grew in my neghbor hood and it fell over though they look like dinosour plants the 1 i saw was like 2 stories tall it was kewl

ooouuuummmmmmmm i think that is really nifty how it flowers once every like 100 years,....... oh and the birds i maybe see one a summer if lucky but this is outragous.
