I did not know that overtone-present didgeridoo accompaniment was to be found in parts of Western Arnhem Land until Darryl Digarrnga of White Cockatoo fame told me about it. And here's an example of such an instrument from Mamardawerre outstation, near Oenpelli in Western Arnhem Land. I collected this instrument myself whilst in Arnhem Land and was immediately taken by the impressive artwork in ochre. I've seen similar designs on bark before by preeminent Aboriginal artists from the region and never imagined that a didgeridoo would be decorated in such a stunning manner.

I got a mate of mine, Djulukpirri, to play this gorgeous instrument for me, to demonstrate how it is supposed to be played.
