Hi,tbold i agree for that bytheway who's ur master...

Thats true. Different eskrima schools tend to focus on a certain distance between opponents. Thats their expertise. However, one should know corto, medio and largo techniques to be effective in real time sparring. One does not simply stand there and get hit. Each one is in constant motion. If one is an astute judge of distance and apply a technique accordingly in REAL TIME, then that person will hold his/her own. But then again....its easier said than done. Hehehehe.

I have watched the ORO Balintawak Cuentada Videos and they are indeed very good. They are among my favorites, but the question is not real vs non-real sparring, but rather a different approach. Balintawak is very corto and the sparring practice here involves largo mano closing to medio/corto and breaking out to largo mano again with footwork and evasion.
