I read that one of the main reasons as to why JFK was murdered had to do with him wanting to back the USD by silver.

He's confused. At first he describes Gresham's law with Turk's help, which states that when a government artificially overvalues one money, it drives the undervalued money out of circulation. But then he proceeds on to saying that government should put a number on a silver coin to give it "value" which will determine its purchasing power. You can call an ounce of silver "dollar" but that doesn't give it value. Prices of goods can be in oz, and exchange rate between specie and fiat can float.

In French the word for money is l'Argent, from Argentum=silver. In German and Dutch the word for money is Geld (sounds pretty close to Gold not?). Soon the people will become aware of this again I think.
