@BirdmanDeuce26 Good advice I certainly will. At the moment I am toying around with a bit of study into exactly how the difference in composition actually the method on the written page, gave birth to the Classical period from the Baroque and picking up the differences in the embelishments and trilly bits and how WAM actually kept them going if you get my meaning. Im having some interesting evenings and learning heaps thanks to folk like yourself.
@Malloyism If you plan on comparing pieces played in different tunings, I would suggest finding pieces from the Baroque era, and comparing between "modern" ensembles and orchestras which play music as written, and "historically correct" ensembles which play in tunings and keys accurate to the time they were written.
Handel is a good place to start. Youtube users civileso and margotlorena1 have many examples of pieces by those composers in both "modern" and "traditional" pitch. Happy listening!
@BirdmanDeuce26 Much obliged mate. Ill have to train my ear now to be able to distinguish the difference. I will listen to a classical AMinor concerto then some Bach A Minor stuff and listen hard. Is this recommended or will I wasting my time. Cheers again
@Malloyism Pitch is this context is referring to the overall tuning of the music. In modern times we are at A=440, which means the note we think of as A is tuned at 440hz. In Baroque times, however, A was tuned a bit lower at 415hz and so the score that you're reading above would be playing lower tuned than what is written.

Interesting sound with the low pitch (A=415 instead of 440) Makes the high notes much easier. Have sung this many timnes, always a great work to do.
