I think the reason is if you use right leg, it is too close to the (stage)<--? and you probably can't turn your body to back to the (stick)<--? from side by side with it. You may jump with right leg when you stating run-up on the left of the stage but I don't know whether it is allowed under the game rules.
Sorry for my poor English..My mother tongue is not English... Hope you understand what I am saying.

Why do all people jump with their left leg???
