  • Hi everyone this is now a REPOST on here together with Kings Rapsody from LIVE RADIO 1947. This was my first post and I have now got round to the promise of that. Please d0 look AT THE LIVE SONGS UPLOADED ON HERE. many thanks.

  • Thank you all for your wonderful comments. pity Gracies managment did not get Gracie to record more classics, I have Gracie singing many many from Radio transcriptions and will post these on here. I cant believe this upload has had so many hits.

  • Lovely, Lovely Gracie. She brought such joy in hard times!

  • Thanks for that lovely comment. We could do with Gracie in these hard times, glad Gracie brings much joy, 30 years after her death, and although this recording is poor quality, it has had lots of hits, so keep the Aspidistra in the old art pot under the stairs a while and let Gracie sing properly for a change LOL.

  • I will be replacing this, with a better version in a short while, It was my first download.

  • this is REAL music - melodic, with great feeling and one had to have a modicum of talent to sing it. My how we've deteriorated...

  • Lovely, absolutely lovely!

This music is before my time, but in taste I guess that I prefer those years than what we have available and on fashion today, with some few exceptions.

In my grandparent's house they have some old English records where I got acquainted with the lovely music by Ivor Novello.

  • Gracie Fields was unique, special and a very good singer. She was a character and down to earth. I used to love her singing-it made me feel safe, unlike now!

  • Well done with the photograph - it looks authentically 1940s!

  • dear Gracie..... my gran was besotted with her it reminds me so much of her thanks for posting it
