@nzKnut yeah pretty sure that team had a big bang set up tho which is why it sounds different to a normal 08 r1. standard 08 crank with different cams. two cylinders fire at the same time i think. sure someone will correct me if im wrong but im sure i read that.

Only the black bike is a 2009 R1 - the red bike is the previous years 08 R1 with the standard crank, which is why it sounds like a standard IL4

@powersliding yeah i know what it is and how it works. just didnt get when u meant by saying it made an inline 4 a v4. it just didnt make sense to me. but what u meant was the characteristics are very similar which makes more sense!!

@dibnah46 its an inline 4....but has no characteristics of an inline 4...firing order is identical to some v4's....traction behavior is same with a v4....which is the main reason why they chose this configuration...the crank is angled at 90 degree rather than the typical 180 degree inline 4 which makes it similar to a 90 degree v4 with a 180 degree crankshaft
