Why California voted NO on Prop 19

"Proposition 19, also known as the Regulate, Control & Tax Cannabis Act, would have legalized various marijuana-related activities, allowed local governments to regulate these activities, permitted local governments to impose and collect marijuana-related fees and taxes, and authorized various criminal and civil penalties."

So why didn't it get passed? Because we spaced out man!!!!

This is funny, its now a recurring joke that the reason why Prop 19 failed was because the stoners were too stoned to vote on election day!

@peterpotpie cmon you know it was funny. Look at the bright side. It made it this far and it was a close call! 53.8% vs. 46.2% Maybe it the next two years it will be passed. (should be since the next election is on 2012 and we could all die happy).

@ccondor97 i live in the netherlands, and yes its easy to move here geta job and a house yoru right........if your an EU citizen like me. however if your american. canadian....basically anything other then european its next to impossible. i have a yank friend whos getting marries 2sum1 here JUST for paperwork. besides no1 shud have 2 move county and life 2 just do a basic human right. @ccondor97 There are three positions one can take on marijuana: First, one can call for it to be illegal such that no one is permitted to use it. Second, one can call for it to be legal such that those who wish to use it may. Third, one can call for it to be mandated such that all are required to use it.

Now, if you were in a country that mandated the use of marijuana and your objections were met with "If you don't like it move to another country." would you feel that is a fair response?

If you want to legally smoke weed or legalize it, then just move to the Netherlands. Or research the situation over there. Nobody is stopping you
