Barclays demo Birmingham 17 April 2009. Police arrest one of a group of teenagers who had came to the demo to find out what it was all about. Barclays staff called the police and they arrested one teenager for 'criminal damage' for allegedly kicking the door of Barclays bank. He did not do this, the police refused to take witness statements from any of the dozen or so bystanders who witnessed the demo. This is the video of them refusing to carry out their duties and take witness statements to an alleged crime.

  • VeganDave001 There seems to be some crossed wires here,or some of my comments missing. Will await to see if the correspondence thread is complete before I reply.

  • @gibscot2 No comments missing, all comments submitted have been approved. Whilst you are waiting, you could answer the questions below, such as why you say I am a 'Professional protester' by answering how many protests I have taken part in in the last year :)

  • @gibscot2 You could also answer this point : "You claim it's impossible to judge without witnessing the whole incident, yet you've done nothing but judge without witnessing the whole incident!!!".

  • VeganDave001 I should have known you are a professional protester. You will look for any excuse to cause trouble whether it be justified or not. Part time journalist with your camera. Why don't you get a full time job. I suspect you have personal issues. No enimity towards you. Hope you keep a balanced view on life.

  • @gibscot2 In what regards am I a 'Professional protester' ? Which protests have I taken part in in say the last year ? Also, as pointed out, the IPCC upheld EVERY complaint against the behaviour of these officers so clearly (given how tame the IPCC is), they were at fault.

Personal issues ? No, I just believe in honesty and integrity, if having such issues is a problem for you, I'm not the one with the issues :)

  • Vegan Dave001 You claim that the IPCC upheld your complaint I doubt that statement. Without having witnessed the whole of the incident it is impossible for one to judge. All I witnessed was your nuisance, your obstructive and provocative behaviour, you were trying to incite Police action probably to effect more publicity. The correct conduct on your part was to offer yourself as a witness in court. Perhaps an older more experienced officer would have ended your conduct promptly.

  • @gibscot2 I guess you would doubt anything that didn't agree with your personal viewpoint, I certainly get that feeling from your comments. You claim it's impossible to judge without witnessing the whole incident, yet you've done nothing but judge without witnessing the whole incident!!! Hoist by your own petard, as the saying goes :)

  • The little hate campaign that you're running against the Police (all, not just the ones who let the side down too) isn't at all bigotted in any way?

You're just out trying to antagonise the Police and the situation instead of concentrating on taking part in a peaceful protest. The majority of people who turn up to all manner of protests are very pleasant people who believe strongly in their cause, unlike the 'pick a cause of the day mob' who spoil it! These people ruin it for all. Cheers.

  • @gibscot2 That's strange because every complaint I put in about their behaviour was upheld by the IPCC. So, you don't think journalists (or indeed any citizen) should be willing to ensure the police carry out their legal duties without overstepping the law and acting illegally do you not ? You see no problem with letting individual police officers flout the law and think ordinary citizens should not question their actions when they do ?

Do you want to live in a police state then ?

  • That nuisance the so called part time journalist was causing would not have been put up with in France or Spain or America. British Police are too soft. He was being deliberately provocative. He should have been arrested for obstructing Police. He was wasting Police time.

  • don't refer to them as officers refer to them as constables
