Climate change and limited availability of fossil fuels force us to explore alternative sources of energy for our mobility. The German Government set a goal of one million electric cars on our streets by the year 2020. To support these electric vehicles we need an infrastructure of electric parking lots and a network of charging stations all over Germany.
The batteries of the cars can also be used as storage facilities for the surplus of electricity from renewables. This energy reserve can be put back into the electric power network when needed. This is made possible by smart grid systems, which steer the energy flows and electricity capacities. FROSYS supplies hardware and software to advance the development of e-mobility.
