War is fought on both sides... it's a game of death where every one loses. America, Japan, Germany, Canada, UK, Italy all commit war crimes... it's war, The innocent pay the price of the few who make the decisions. The movie never says the bombers are American, British, or anything all they ever say is "Airships" nor do they ever say "Death to America" all the characters are just trying to live as normal a life as they can during war.

@tkoizumi No, that's not the problem. Did you and I actually see the same film? It doesn't matter what set of beliefs you follow. You may be a Christian, a Muslim, a Shintoist, a Mormon or a Scientologist, it doesn't matter - war just destroys. There is no logical explanation for the deaths of fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters and friends. No poet can express the suffering. No religion can explain why these two had to lose their parents and die. No 'loving' god can justify their suffering.
