  • We can assure you that we spent an entire week going over and over the entries because the decisions were so difficult. Thanks again, and we would love to run another contest. We will keep you notified when it launches, and will take all of your suggestions on ways to improve it!

  • We wish we could have awarded prizes to several other contestants as well, but in order to follow in accordance with our own set of rules, we were forced to choose a limited number of finalists. We put in a lot of effort just to extend the finalists by two contestants; If we could have stretched that number out to twenty, we would have. But we sincerely thank you for your interest and also for your desire to keep everything fair and accurate.

  • We also looked into suspicious activity that we may have seen on a few entries. For those instances when we were able to prove foul-play, we simply ignored the entry altogether. Any other scenario is difficult to address without substantial proof. From what we have seen, most of what we received was genuine and really well done.

  • Hey users,

    Thank you for your input. We would like you all to know that we chose our finalists on the basis of view number and comments. Though there are many ways to pick winners and contestants, we deemed it fair and simple (at the time) to make the assumption that a high and balanced number of views and comments would classify a video as "popular" on the site. From there, we voted on what were the best-made and most thoughtful videos

  • Hey Arcane, got it, you should see it as a Video Response now. Good luck!

  • Just wanted to make sure you got our video. Also, since we just found out about the contest, will we have time for people to view our video before judging?

  • Yup, we did get your video and it's now up! As for the views, the contest closes at 6:00PM PST today, so try to get as many people as you can to view and comment before then! We will announce winners on July 27. Good luck!

  • I agree...I think that it being based on views and comments makes it more of a popularity contest...which isnt a very good way to grade a video.

  • Use of any Elements or other materials that are not original or in the public domain may result in disqualification of the affected video and the disqualification of the Contest Entrant from participation in the Contest

  • (j) must not contain any copyrighted works (other than materials owned by the Contest Entrant) or any other information, content or materials that infringe the rights of any third party or violate any applicable laws or regulations. All elements used, incorporated into or otherwise appearing in a Video must be entirely original, created and performed by the Contest Entrant or be in the public domain.

  • I would like to know why certain rules set by YOU were ignored in choosing the finalists and the winner? There were only a few entries that didn't have copyrighted songs. This is the exact wording from your rules: ll Videos: (a) must be a wholly original, audio-visual performance created by the Contest Entrant;

  • If this is true...then you really missed the mark! The only suspicious activity I witnessed was from one of your winners. This contestant sent friends of his or hers to make vulgar and untrue comments on other people's entries and also made false acusations against another entrant.

    Sad....very sad and just bad business.
