can the 1000 be transferred to the computer?

Yes

how does that work? does it use a SD or tape?
kutila 3 years ago
The HDRFX-1000 records only to tape, The HVR-C5 records to tape for storage and Compact Flash card for faster downloads

so does that mean the 1000 can't be transfer?
kutila 3 years ago
No, the transfer with the taped based HDRFX-1000 is just slower that the HVR-5C.
